Unusual Junco. A few weeks ago I noticed this guy outside our dining room window feeding with a flock of Dark-eyed Juncos and White-throated Sparrows. My thought it might possibly be a hybrid of the two species which does occasionally occur. I sent a copy to Mark Szantyr who is an expert in the field and he agrees it's a good possibility. With the big push of juncos hitting the area it's fun to look for these "out of norm" birds. Since getting back from Mexico it's been a busy spring. Lots of new images to be uploaded to the site. New images of all the Northeast Flycatchers plus finally good images of Cape May Warbler that has been a challenge to say the least!

I've processed a fair number of images from a recent trip to Mexico. We spent out time on the west coast in the San Blas area which is a few hours north of Puerto Villarta. Other than some cracked ribs it was a great trip with lots of new birds. Especially cooperative was a Colima Pygmy-Owl..... smaller than a Fox Sparrow! These images will be added to the image library as soon as time permits but If you want to see some images from this latest trip check out this gallery.
